The 'O' Ring Kukri (Daryl's Walking Dead Knife); the perfect Hybrid fusion of Kukri and knife

The 'O' Ring Kukri is yet another customized kukri from Khukuri House. The concept of this Kukri is created by Mr. Simon Culley, our friend, and customer who got highly inspired by the knife used by Daryl Dixon (Character) from the television series 'The Walking Dead'. The original knife is designed by 'Norman Reedus' who plays Daryl's role in the series.

Here Mr. Simon has combined the design using the handle of 'Daryl's knife' with the blade shape of 'traditional Nepali Khukuri'.

Kukri explained::

The blade of the kukri is simple, with no twists and frills to make the blade fully functional keeping the traditional look alive. 11.5 inch long blade with 7 mm thick spine is a heck of a knife for any cutting purpose. The traditional decorations and the NOTCH on the blade are completely discarded to give a modern knife look. The jagged edges on the upper spine are also discarded.

The forefinger 'O' ring handle is the major attraction of the Kukri hence named after. The 'O' ring and the hand guard have been kept completely the same as in the original design in the series. To give the matching look the guard is made from Brass which contrasts the color of the black wood handle.

The 5.5 inch long handle is full flat tang tapered towards the pommel. The front hand guard, back pommel, and lower part of the hand belly are made of Brass and give a unique stylish look to the kukri. The wooden handle parts are glued and stuck together; two rivets make the handle more stronger and durable. The rear hook or glass breaker on the pommel has been discarded and kept short and simple from the original design.

Shiny patent leather sheath adds beauty to the stylish shiny brass fixtures of the handle. The sheath comes with a dual carry (both left and right hand) option and can be easily adjusted. The frog is also made adjustable with shiny brass color rivets to match the handle. The lanyard loop is kept on the tip of the sheath. Traditional Karda Chakmak are also discarded to keep the kukri simple and modern, it also reduces the overall weight of the knife.

Purpose and use:

This kukri is fully functional and capable of performing any hard-cutting task. Just you need to care the brass pommel cannot be used as a hammer. It is more of a stylish decoration. The weight of the handle and thick blade takes the kukri on the heavier side. the O rings locks your hand and finger helping in carrying the knife in an unorthodox way as shown in the series and use them for protecting your hands when you are using the blade in combat. It can be your survival knife.
