Post 1947 (The Brigade of Gurkhas)
As the well defined name this category holds the standard service kukri knives issued to the British Gurkhas till 2000 AD after the Brigade of Gurkhas was formed. After India’s independence in 1947, amongst the numerous Gorkha Regiments of British Indian Army the 2nd, 6th, 7th and 10th GR (Gurkha Rifles) were taken to/by Britain. Then the Brigade of Gurkhas was raised along with the newly created Gurkha Regiments under British flagship. Each new recruit was issued with the kukri listed here in various phase of time. Going through the description of each knife is highly recommended as one would know the gradual development, history and background of the kukri.
