McCurdy Knife designed in USA forged in Nepal

This specific name to define three things at once;

1. John McCurdy is the designer (man behind the design and success of this knife)
2. Has a drop point blade profile (strong and robust tip that is easy to maneuver for cutting/piercing)
3. Handle has vertical Guard for safety purpose hence can be used freely

Khukuri House has been able to maintain close relationships with some of its loyal and regular customers over the long years in the business of kukri/knives manufacturing. Amongst them, Mr. John McCurdy is one of the oldest customers and a very loyal friend who is a knife enthusiast, collector, and designer from Pennsylvania, USA. He has done many successful projects with the company over the last decade or so. The “McCurdy Knife" also known as the "McKnife" is one of the very famous ones. This specific knife is proudly named after him. It is such a great pleasure and honor to be a part of this joint venture.

Blade: The blade is 5 inch long and comes with unpolished finishing; nice and smooth surface. It has a robust blade shape in basic drop point format. The profile makes the knife easy to handle and use effectively. It has a steep bevel and sharp edge which makes cutting fine and less laborious. The thick spine at 5 mm makes it very durable and also a great whacker. The zimping in spine is to rest thumb and choil in front for index finger to facilitate delicate cutting and carving. 

Handle: The handle is made out of buffalo horn, again unpolished, for better grip. It is a full flat tang riveted version (Panawal in kukri terms) for durability and balance purpose (counter-balance). The overall shape of the handle is very well designed to provide a very comfortable and secured grip (hold). The top of the handle features a hand guard which protects the using hand from slipping into the blade and thus prevent cuts (injury). Whereas the bottom has a lanyard hole to tie the knife in wrist to prevent from dropping (falling).

Sheath: A neatly done black leather Western Sheath is adopted for the knife. Its simple, strong and makes easy to operate the blade. A belt loop is cut out from the body to carry the knife from waist. A button strap is fitted in the loop to lock the handle in position.This makes carrying easier and swifter.

​From November 17, 2022, the default handle material is Black Micarta. also available in Green Leaf and Brown Wood color.
You can choose HORN or BLACK WOOD as handle material depending on availability.
