A kukri forged to serve; 5160 steel, Raw blade with Chirra, Panawal Angkhola Kukri; packed with Power and Performance

This Panawal kukri in raw version is a hardcore performing blade. Its raw finishing provides extra sheer and raw force to the blade. Thus the combination of raw blade backed up by chirra (fuller) and panawal handle makes the kukri best suited for heavy duty works. Hence nicknamed as ‘Forged To Serve’, hand made to play with.

Blade: The blade is same as the original "Pahade (Villager's no.1)" kukri. The length measures 10inch long but for this blade, it has raw finishing. This raw finishing enhances the cutting ability and durability of the blade as losing of temper is prevented by avoiding the long machinery process undertaken to polish a blade. The blade has semi fuller or layer running across the main panel of the blade. This fullers/chirra decreases the overall weight of the blade and works as shock absorbers. It also gives support to the flat surface by absorbing the direct impact felt by the blade. It has heavy version thick blade.

Handle: The kukri’s handle if from the famous “Panawal” version where the flat tang goes all the way through the handle, and twin rivets are fitted to strengthen the fixtures. This full flat metal tang can be clearly seen running through the two sides of the handle. The handle scales are made from rosewood and both the pommel and bolster are made from thick iron plate to withstand the heavy impact taken by the blade. The profile of the handle is traditional however the default ridge adn rings are discared for smooth grip.

Sheath: It has a normal black leather scabbard. Near the mouth of the sheath, one can find more effective leather frog that is first introduced by Khukuri House called the “Farus”. Unlike regular frogs, here the loop is made at the back of the frog itself to make carriage very easy and efficient since it holds the kukri close to the body. The Frog is fastened by a shoe lace or sometimes leather thong to strap its two end. This gives a complete new unique and attractive look. Rounded brass metal chape gives a brilliant look and safety as it protects the leather used and also prevents from piercing into flesh.

Beautiful knife, wish i could say the same about the sheath.

Got my raw panawal a few days ago and it is truly a beautiful knife, arrived well oiled etc and am very happy with it. However the kukri does not fit into the sheath no matter how hard i try with different lubricants etc... i have contacted KHHI however they have yet to reply to my email. overall definitely recommend KHHI, their kukris are beautiful and i'm sure this was a one of mistake.
