This is the second service kukri officially issued to the Nepali Sena (Nepalese Army) as the "Ceremonial or Dress Knife" for special occasions and events where very high discipline and tidiness is mandatory.

Official Ceremonial Service Kukri of Nepal Army

This kukri is issued to the new recruits on enlistment and is retained throughout the army career. It is the 2nd official khukuri issued which is mainly for special parade/duty on special occasions and events when VIPs and VVIPs grace the ceremony. It is a very important aspect of the ceremonial dress which requires very high standard of maintenance and tidiness. "Nepali Sena Service Kukri (Ceremonial)" is identical to the main issue however it has mirror polished blade and comes with highly polished patent leather sheath.

  • The blade is in traditional profile, in moderate shape, skillfully crafted and is 9" long

  • The handle is about 4.5-5" long made out of horn handle and is highly polished. It has a full tang hidden inside the horn that is securely locked from outside in the pommel. Has brass fixtures
  • The scabbard is made of high quality patent leather to give extra shine and smartness to the uniform. Twin belt loops are fitted in frog at the back portion of the scabbard. Has a brass tip
  • The khukuri comes with two traditional knives; Karda and Chakmak
  • Like any army kukris it is the simplest of all yet has its own beauty

Nepal Army (NA) or “Nepali Sena”

in Nepalese is the national military force of Nepal. It includes the Nepalese Army Air Service and the Nepalese Police Force. Service is voluntary and the minimum age for enrollment is 18 years.

The Nepalese Army (Nepali: नेपाली सेना) or originally called the "Gorkhali Army (Nepali: गोरखाली सेना)" is the military land warfare force of Nepal. The army was formerly known as the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) during the monarchy period before the abolition of the 238-year-old Shah dynasty rule in 28 May 2008. King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah was the last king to rule Nepal. The "Gorkhali Army" or "Army of Gorkha" that was started and well organized by the great king of Gorkha, Prithvi Narayan Shah, for the Nepal unification campaign that begun 1743-44 is the source/parent of NA. Its primary role is to defend the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Nepal. Secondary role is to provide assistance to the Civilian Government of Nepal in the maintenance of Internal Security. Other duties include humanitarian assistance/disaster relief operations, assisting in national development, nature conservation efforts and participation in international peacekeeping mission. The president holds the highest post in Nepal Army as the supreme commander of the army.
